Courageous, funny and wise beyond her years, Lynnette loves everything and everybody in this world. She is the heart of this expedition. She is the hostess at Crystal Creek Lodge in King Salmon, Alaska as well as a budding flyfisher. It was Lynnette who brought the idea of making the point of this road trip to be fishing. Lynnette was born and raised in Alamosa Colorado, that wonderful, unknown part of Colorado that should’ve really been a portion of New Mexico. A self-proclaimed Redneck, she credits her father who taught her how to camp, hunt, fish and work hard while serving others. Growing up in the US west where the roads are open and the drives long, Lynnette loves to road trip. When not in Alaska, she and Dan spend most of their winter road tripping around the US in their Roadtrek Class B miniature motorhome.
The "uppity redneck" of the pair (Lynnette's words), Dan is the dreamer, driver (in all aspects of the word) and voice of the expedition. Dan was the first employee of Crystal Creek Lodge in 1988, bought it in 1995 and has had the life of his dreams as a bush pilot and guide entertaining anglers on the Alaskan frontier ever since. Originally from Minnesota, Dan's friends and family taught him the value of living the outdoor lifestyle and loving it. After taking five years to obtain his Associate of Arts degree in General Studies, Dan dropped out of college and ran away from home at age 24 to Arizona where he began a life of travel and adventure, never looking back. A road tripper since he got his driver's license, his first four-month fly fishing road trip of 1984 has haunted him since the day he came home and put the VW Bus in 'park'.
