The Truck
The truck is a 2019 Toyota Hilux. It was ordered new from Bhassa Toyota of La Pampa, Argentina with a number of custom accessories, including turbo diesel engine with manual six-speed transmission, 4x4, skid plates on the underside, front winch, heavy duty shocks and suspension, running boards and my favorite, THE SNORKEL. I pray we never need the snorkel. Javier Bustos, the dealer representative, is outstanding to deal with.
The Camper
The camper is a Northstar 650 SS sold by Patagonia Campers of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Our representative, Alejandro Martin Vers (Alex) is outstanding to work with. Here is a link to a video tour of the camper. The roof line raises to allow access to a queen-sized bed in the forward sleeping area. It is equipped with indoor kitchen, heater, outside shower, awning and our favorite THE STARGAZING ROOF WINDOW. The skies of Patagonia are usually crystal clear compared to those of North America. We are excited about the prospect of falling asleep looking at the stars each night.
Note: Alejandro and Andres Martin-Vers of Patagonia Csmpers are about to begin renting truck and camper combinations. They are excellent to work with and their integrity is proven to us beyond reproach.
